ASL Business and Commerce Ltd, registered in the United Kingdom, with the Companies Register of England & Wales, Company Number 8493565.

Our Board of Registered Directors comprise of UK and Pakistan Nationals, our UK Directors undertake the Corporate Management and Compliance whilst our Pakistan Directors, operating out of Karachi Pakistan are directly responsible for the Operations and Management of all our Maritime affairs.

Our companies Chairman Captain Akhtar Javed, has over 45 years of Operational and Maritime Experience, including that of Master Mariner and directly oversee’s his Maritime Ship Broker team in Karachi.

All Maritime relations, operations and communications are directly handled by our Maritime Department in Karachi, whilst we do work with local agents in some markets, our local agents are not responsible for vessel fixing, this is the sole responsibility of our Maritime Department of which all valued clients and ship owners and charterers have direct relations with.

I have learned during my business career that the success of any endeavor hinges upon the implementation of few basic and fundamental practices. These practices apply equally to all sizes and kinds of businesses including marine business as well, and this approach is the first priority of our management team. We understand the necessity of providing our customers with what is needed to get their product to market in a safe, efficient manner.

As a shipping broker, in the 1990’s and early 00’s, I came to appreciate the difference between a carrier who was willing to tell me the truth and one who would tell me what he thought I wanted to hear. With charter hire rates being volatile, it was critical that I be aware of any delays in shipment. I realized that it was essential to do business with only those carriers who had earned my trust, this was crucial then, and it remains so today.

We understand that unavoidable delays do happen in the marine business just as every other business. We demand, however, that our management team works to reduce the possibility of delays by assuring that our ships are well maintained and that their crews are properly trained. Our marketing department has a mandate to do all that is in its power to meet our customers’ requirements and to keep them informed of any changes or delays in seeing their product to its destination.
